Integration of AI in the National Education System in Türkiye

As Artificial Intelligence (AI) rapidly reshapes the global educational landscape, this chapterexamines the comprehensive, human-centered strategy adopted by Türkiye’s Ministry ofNational Education to integrate AI into the national school education system. Anchored in the "Century of Türkiye Education Model," the study details national progress across seven criticaldomains: establishing a robust governance framework and action plan; expanding digitalinfrastructure and inclusion; reforming curricula for AI literacy; deploying AI tools;developing platforms for personalized learning (MEBİ) and language acquisition (DİLİM);supporting accessibility for learners with special needs; and implementing rigorous ethicalsafeguards. By prioritizing a human-centered AI philosophy, Türkiye demonstrates a balancedmodel of digital transformation that leverages advanced technologies to bridge achievementgaps and modernize instruction without compromising the fundamental role of the teacher orthe dignity of the learner, offering valuable insights for policymakers and teachers as theynavigate the future of educational AI.
