TÜBA Member Prof. M. Gazi Yaşargil Has Passed Away
TÜBA Honorary Member and the best neurosurgeon of the century Prof. Mahmut Gazi Yaşargil passed away at the age of 99.
We wish Allah's mercy to Prof. Yaşargil, who devoted his life to science, trained countless scientists all over the world, was the founder of microneurosurgery, and whose contribution to modern medicine and thus to humanity is invaluable. We wish patience to his family, relatives and the world of science.
TÜBA President Prof. Muzaffer Başkan Şeker stated that he learned about Prof. Yaşargil's passing with sadness and said, “May Allah have mercy on our esteemed teacher, a great scientist who guided science and wisdom, offered cure to humanity, and raised countless students. I wish patience to his family, his students and our scientific world.”
