On the Road to the Energy of the Future, TÜBA-New Energy Technologies Report
TÜBA published the "New Energy Technologies Report" to examine the issue as energy transformation is taking place on a global scale.
Comprehensive analysis on new energy
The study, which is the product of the long-term scientific efforts of the TÜBA Energy Working Group, also aims to increase scientific cooperation in the Turkic world and promote diplomatic rapprochement in the field of energy. The report, based on scientific contributions presented during the New Energy Technologies Summer School held at Ahmet Yesevi University in Kazakhstan from August 18 to 23, 2024, explores the historical development of energy, the physical and technological foundations of today’s energy systems, and future perspectives from a multidimensional standpoint. Topics such as the basic principles of thermodynamics, the current state of fossil and nuclear resources, the development of renewable energy technologies, hydrogen energy, energy storage systems, smart grids, alternative fuels, environmental impacts, social transformation and energy economics are detailed. The report also highlights innovative solutions ranging from advanced applications based on resources such as solar and wind to carbon capture technologies, from artificial intelligence-supported energy management systems to the hydrogen economy.
Contribution to scientific cooperation and policy-making
The report, prepared for scientists, decision-makers and practitioners working in the field of energy, was shared with the public as a reference source at both technical and strategic levels. Unlike similar publications, it not only documents technological trends but also addresses interdisciplinary topics such as energy policies, socio-economic impacts and innovation strategies with an integrated approach. Emphasizing the need for cooperation between academia, public and private sectors, the report emphasizes the multi-stakeholder nature of the energy transformation.
On the other hand, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Dinçer, one of the editors of the report, stated that the scientific presentations made during the summer school revealed a multidimensional perspective ranging from the past to the future of energy, and stated that knowledge sharing with young researchers and international cooperation were among the most important achievements of this process.
