TÜBA Young Academy Member Prof. Üstüner was Elected as a Member of AYK Atatürk Research Center

TÜBA GEBİP Member, Istanbul University Faculty Member Prof. Hacer Topaktaş Üstüner was elected as a member of the Atatürk Research Center Scientific Board of Atatürk Culture, Language and History High Council (AYK).

She received her undergraduate degree from the Department of History Teaching at Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) in 2001.  She was awarded a research scholarship by the Polish Government and she carried out researches on Ottoman-Polish relations at the Institute of History of the Jagiellon University of Cracow in 2005.  She started her doctorate at Hacettepe University History Department in 2006 and received her doctorate in 2013. She has continued her researches at Bonn, Warsaw, Jagiellonian, University College London and Higher School of Economics in Moscow. She was awarded TÜBA-TEÇEP in 2015 with her book of the doctoral thesis titled "Ottoman-Polish Diplomatic Relations and Embassy of Franciszek Piotr Potocki in Istanbul (1788-1793)" and TÜBA-GEBİP in 2017. She has been working as a faculty member at Istanbul University since 2013.

Prof. Dr. Hacer Topaktaş Üstüner has many internationally known articles and books on the history of Poland-Turkey relations. She knows fluent English and Polish, intermediate level of French and Russian.
