TÜBA Phase Studies and Ethical Rules Workshop on Clinical Studies

"Phase Studies and Ethical Rules Workshop on Clinical Studies" organized by TÜBA will be held on January 13-14, 2017 at The Green Park Hotel, Pendik, Istanbul.

12 different topics including patient and public awareness, studies conducted on animals, cellular therapy and regenerative medicine, ethical rules in studies conducted with biosimilar drugs, non-drug clinical studies will be examined with the participation of around 200 scientists and administrators at the workshop.

TÜBA President Prof. Ahmet Cevat Acar said that the main objective of the workshop is to contribute to the conduct of clinical studies in Turkey in accordance with the relevant rules and that it is important to increase the scientific impact of Turkey in the world, to develop our national drug industry, to produce biosimilar products and to use international research funds.

Prof. Acar said that Turkey is among the top 10 countries in the world with its 79 million population and potential patient population and also has a very important potential for clinical studies. Prof. Acar also stated that the abolition of the central ethics committee with the same applications in the European Union and the transfer of competence to local ethics committees is an important development and it also increases the existing potential.

The report to be published at the end of the workshop prepared with the contribution of relevant working groups, members and stakeholders representatives will be sent to the relevant public institutions and organizations, the Ministry of Health, SGK and its affiliates, universities and the administrators of public hospitals.
