The Deadline for Applications for the 2026 International TÜBA Academy Prizes Has Been Extended

Due to high demand, the nomination period for the 2026 TÜBA International Academy Prizes has been extended until June 5, 2026.

From among the nominees submitted by TÜBA members, university rectors, global science academies, international academic organizations, and other individuals and institutions invited by TÜBA, one prize is granted in each category—Natural and Engineering Sciences, Health and Life Sciences, and Social and Humanities Sciences—to nominees in various scientific fields. The work and contributions of the nominated scientists are evaluated by TÜBA Prize Juries established for the three award categories, taking into account the opinions of expert local and international reviewers in their respective fields, and the juries’ recommendations are then submitted to the Academy Council. The Prize recipients are determined by the Academy Council. To be eligible for the Academy Prize, which consists of the Academy Prize Medal and Certificate along with a monetary prize determined by the Academy Council each January, the nominated scientists must not have received another international-level science prize in Türkiye within the past three years.

TÜBA President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker noted that the International TÜBA Academy Prizes play a significant role in Türkiye’s vision for science diplomacy, stating: “Through the International TÜBA Academy Prizes, which have been held under the patronage of the Presidency since 2015, we are not only honoring distinguished scientists; but we are also strengthening Türkiye’s capacity for scientific collaboration and its international academic visibility. Recognizing researchers who conduct Türkiye-related thematic studies and develop collaborations with scientists and institutions in our country fosters a culture of joint research. As TÜBA, we will continue to support original and high-quality scientific work and build strong ties with the global scientific community.”
