2022 TÜBA Summer School
Turkish World Union of National Academies of Sciences (TDUBAB) “Basic Sciences and Requirements of Academic Life” Summer School was held by TÜBA with the support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) at TÜBA Rabi Madrasa.
24 scholars from the Turkish world participated.
TÜBA International Summer School included postgraduate and doctoral students and academics carrying out their post-doctoral studies. Thematic courses are supported by creative publications, research techniques, doubt in science, critical approaches, honesty in academia and academic ethics, which are important topics in the world of science and academia. 24 scientists from Turkey participated. In the summer school program, which has not been held for two years due to the COVID-19 global epidemic; Courses were opened under 18 titles such as Basic Science for Information and Communication Technologies, Space Technologies and Turkey, The Importance of Basic Sciences in Life.
Every year, our Summer School builds new bridges and contributes to scientific collaborations.
Speaking at the opening of the program, TÜBA President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker reminded that the TÜBA Summer School has been organized with the theme of “International Law, Diplomacy and Cooperation” since 2017, and “2022 has been declared the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development (IYBSSD2022) by the United Nations. In this context, as the TÜBA Academy Council, we changed the subject of the Summer School to basic sciences and the title to 'Basic Sciences and the Requirements of Academic Life'. Many TÜBA Members and scientists from different universities and institutions in Turkey met with our Summer School students. Our Summer School, which we organized for the fourth time, aims to contribute to the cooperation between the scientists and experts of the Turkish world, sister and close countries, and builds new bridges every year and leads to scientific collaborations. The strengthening of this cooperation is promising for all of us."-
In the five-day program, TÜBA Principal Members; TUBITAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, YÖKAK President Prof. Dr. Muhsin Kar, from Istanbul Medipol University Prof. Dr. Huseyin Arslan, from Yıldız Technical University (YTU) Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Dincer, from Koç University Prof. Dr. Umran Savas Inan, from Marmara University. Prof. Dr. Ercan Oztemel, from METU. Prof. Dr. Bilge Demirkoz, from Kadir Has University Prof. Dr. Nihat Berker, from Gazi University Prof. Dr. Ilkay Erdogan Orhan from Necmettin Erbakan University Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Aydin, from Selcuk University Prof. Dr. Mustafa Ersoz, from Ege University Prof. Dr. Kadriye Arzum Erdem Gürsan and Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş was among the instructors of the Summer School. In addition, Prof. Dr. Taylan Yetkin, from Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Prof. Dr. Zeliha Kocak Tufan, from Bursa Technical University. Dr. Mehmet Isleyen, from the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Aygun, from Karabuk University Prof. Dr. Lokman Kuzu also gave lectures to scholarship students. The Summer School ended with the presentation of certificates to the scholars by Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology, and then a Bosphorus Cruise.
