2010 TÜBA GEBİP Member and Dean of the Faculty of Life and Nature Sciences at Abdullah Gul University, Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran was selected to the Academy of Engineering and Technology of the Developing World.

The Academy undertakes the mission for increasing their mobility to be able to benefit more from the experiences of science and technology leaders from the developing world and thus establishing the South-South Cooperation (SSC) in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations.

South-South Cooperation (SSC) is an international organization for cooperation established for developing countries to work in cooperation to find solutions for the existing development problems. South-South Cooperation consists of more than 130 countries and represents more than two-thirds of UN member countries and 60% of the global population. Within the framework of this cooperation, the economic cooperation between South-South countries is strengthened and important contributions are made to these countries by sharing of know-how in different fields.

The Academy of Engineering and Technology of the Developing World, by bringing together the scientists, researchers, technologists, engineers and the science politicians in the public and private sector, shall determine the science, technology and innovation policies that will offer significant contributions to the developing world's national and regional development.
