The Union of Academies of Sciences of the Turkic World Has Been Established

The Union of Academies of Sciences of The Turkic World was established by the first General Assembly meeting which was held by the International Academy of Turkey on June 29, 2015 in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan and TÜBA’s President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Cevat Acar attended as well.

TÜBA’s President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Cevat Acar stated on the subject that with regards to developing scientific and academic cooperation between Turkic World Academies, the establishment of the Union is a historical and pleasing step and TÜBA will do its best to give contribution and support to the Union. He thanked all members of the Union and those people who contributed to the formation of the institution.

As well as TÜBA, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan National Academy of Sciences of the International Turkish Academy (UTA), founded by the participation of Academies of Sciences Tatarstan and Bashkortostan to TDBAB, Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan also provide support. It was agreed that TDBAB that aims to improve collaboration between the Turkic World Academies of Sciences will be chaired by Kazakhstan National Academy of Sciences President Murat Zhurynov during 2015-16 term, while TÜBA President Ahmet Cevat Acar will be the chair in 2016-17 term and the board reached consensus on regulations and formation of the board of directors. The secretariat services of the Union will be fulfilled by the International Turkish Academy which Darkhan Kydyrali is the president.

As well as academy presidents and representatives, Education and Science Deputy Minister of Kazakhstan Takya Balykbayev, Union of Turkic  World Universities President Prof. Dr. Hikmet Koçak, President of the Council of Kazakhstan Rectors Yerlan Sydykov, the Turkish Council Aksaçlılar Delegation Member Adil Akhmetov and Mongolia’s Ambassador Z.Sukhe also attended the TDBAB establishing meeting.
