Prof. Ekrem Tatoğlu, a TÜBA Fellow, is among the World’s Top Business and Management Scientists, a leading academic platform for researchers, ranked Professor Ekrem Tatoglu #517 in the world and #1 in Turkey among more than 5,977 profiles in its 2022 Edition of Ranking of Top 1000 Scientists in the field of Business and Management, collected by Microsoft Academic and includes leading scientists with an at least H-index score of 30.’s ranking is a reliable list of leading scientists from the area of Business and Management, based on a meticulous examination of 166,880 scientists on Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic Graph. For the discipline of Business and Management, over 5,977 profiles were examined.

The H-index threshold for approving a scholar to be considered is set to 30 if most of their publications are in the field of Business and Management. The inclusion criteria for scholars to be considered for the ranking of top scientists are based on the discipline H-index, the proportion of the contributions made within the given discipline in addition to the awards and achievements of the scientists.

Who is Prof. Ekrem Tatoğlu?
Ekrem Tatoglu is a professor of International Business and affiliated with Gulf University for Science & Technology, Kuwait, and Ibn Haldun University, Istanbul, Turkey. He earned his MBA from the University of Nottingham, the U.K., and his Ph.D. from the University of Leeds, U.K. He has a vast experience in research and teaching in International Business and International Strategic Management at undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive levels. Professor Tatoglu also has extensive experience in policy development, strategic planning and foreign direct investment (FDI), having served as the head of the strategic planning unit in the Turkish Prime Ministry and also acted as principal advisor for the Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Turkey.

His research interests include global management strategies, FDI in emerging countries, international entry mode strategies, and operations management. He published over 120 scholarly articles in various international refereed journals, including the British Journal of Management, Management International Review, Journal of World Business, International Business Review, Human Resource Management, International Journal of Human Resource Management, International Marketing Review, Omega, International Journal of Production Research, Industrial Marketing Management among others. He also co-authored two books entitled Dimensions of Western Foreign Direct Investment in Turkey, published by Quorum Books, and Turkish Multinationals, published by Palgrave Macmillan. Professor Tatoglu’s research is highly regarded at an international level, with his cumulative Google Scholar citations of over 11,300 with an H-index score of 57.

Professor Tatoglu is the area editor of the Journal of Knowledge-Based Organizations published by the Information Resources Management Association and also the editor of Afro Eurasian Studies published by MUSIAD. He also serves as editorial board members of the Employee Relations published by Emerald Publishing and European Journal of International Management, and International Journal of Emerging Markets published by Inderscience. He has been a Fellow of the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) since 2015.
