Applications for the 2026 International TÜBA Academy Awards Have Begun
The application period for the International TÜBA Academy Awards, for which the nomination process has begun for 2026, will continue until May 15, 2026.
Nominations are made by TÜBA members, university rectors, world science academies, international academic institutions, and other individuals and institutions invited by TÜBA. Awards are given in each category to nominees in different scientific fields: Science and Engineering, Health and Life Sciences, and Social and Humanities Sciences. The work and contributions of the nominated scientists are evaluated by the TÜBA Award Juries established for the three award categories, taking into account the opinions of local and foreign experts in the field, and the jury's recommendations are then submitted to the Academy Council. The award winners are determined by the Academy Council. To be nominated for the Academy Awards, which consist of the Academy Award Medal and Certificate and a monetary award determined by the Academy Council each January, scientists must not have received any other international science award in Türkiye in the last three years.
TÜBA President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker stated that the International TÜBA Academy Awards play an important role in terms of Türkiye's science diplomacy vision, noting: "Since 2015, the International TÜBA Academy Awards, held under the auspices of the Presidency, not only honor distinguished scientists; but also strengthen Türkiye's scientific cooperation capacity and international academic visibility. Rewarding researchers who conduct Türkiye-related thematic studies and develop cooperation with scientists and institutions in our country encourages a culture of joint production. As TÜBA, we will continue to support original and high-quality scientific studies and build strong ties with the global scientific community."
