Health Services and Transformation of Health Services in the Postpandemic Period

Maximizing the quality of life of individuals and providing high level of health services is the main goal of the health system. The externality feature of health services requires the state to assume basic responsibilities in the provision of health services. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of service delivery has emerged clearly from a philosophical perspective based on the principles of inclusion, equity, and solidarity, which is considered as a public service of health. The health system, which has a dynamic structure, has expe- rienced a much faster change and development in the pandemic process. It is important to take an organizational and holistic approach by evaluating the positive and negative aspects of service delivery in the pandemic period. From a social perspective, treating the masses in infectious diseases is much more difficult and costly than preventing the occurrence of the disease. In this process, the importance of preventive health services and primary care structuring in the health system has been better understood.

In the postpandemic period, it will be important to experience changes and transformations in health system such us the solution of manpower and infrastructural problems in the health service system, establishment of a system focused on quality and efficiency, strengthening the production capacity of our country in every field, making our country a country that meets both needs and exports, revising medical education in line with the needs,, increasing inter-sectoral cooperation, increasing the health literacy of the society and in many in many areas. Most importantly, attempts should be started to establish the referral chain, knowing the social perception about primary services during the period of COVID-19 pandemic.
