This work is one of the most up-to-date and comprehensive outcomes of the long-standing academic collaboration between the Korean Criminal Law Association and Turkish criminal law scholars. As the Theory of the Risk Society points out, threats in the modern world are now invisible, global, and man-made in nature. These new risks compel criminal law to rethink itself not merely within the traditional patterns of criminal typology, but along the axes of foresight, prevention, social security, and the balance of fundamental rights. From an interdisciplinary perspective, it discusses how the classical boundaries of criminal law are transforming in the face of the multi-layered uncertainties of the risk society and where these boundaries are being challenged. Prepared by 30 Turkish and Korean scholars, this work aims not only to deepen legal scholarship but also to establish a lasting intellectual bridge between the criminal law traditions of the two countries.
