Science and Technology in Islam

TÜBA Honorary Member Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin's "Science and Technology in Islam", which was prepared as a result of many years of work and translated into Turkish by Abdurrahman Aliy, was published by TÜBA for the 4th time.

 

The work, which collects the works of Islamic scholars and their contributions to the world of science with various examples in five volumes under the titles of 'Introduction to Science and Technique in Islam', 'Astronomy', 'Geography, Navigation, Clocks, Geometry, Optics', 'Medicine, Chemistry, Minerals and Fossil Formations', 'Physics and Technique, Architecture, War Technique, Ancient Objects, European Glass and Ceramics in the Orientizing Style', also examines the role of Islamic science in the history of world sciences. Approaching the history of science centered on the Western world with critical analysis, Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin's work reflects a different perspective on the history of Islamic and Medieval science.
