“Masatoshi Gunduz Ikeda Research Award” to TÜBA-GEBİP Member Assoc. Prof. Onaran
Assoc. Prof. Sinem Çelik Onaran from the Faculty of Mathematics, Hacettepe University and 2016 TÜBA-GEBIP Member was awarded the Mathematics Foundation’s “Masatoshi Gunduz Ikeda Research Award” given since 2002 for her contributions to mathematics.
Dr. Onaran who has received the award for her ongoing works in the fields of “Topology of Low Dimensional Space and Contact Topology” stated that it is a great honor to be awarded with the Masatoshi Gunduz Ikeda Research Award that aims to encourage the works on Mathematic field by announcing them to public. Dr. Onaran will receive her award that is given to the scientist under 45-yearl-old in the memory of Prof. Masatoshi Gunduz Ikeda, on May 24 at the Masatoshi Gunduz Ikeda Seminar Hall.
Who is Assoc. Prof. Sinem Çelik Onaran?
In 2003, she received his degree from METU Mathematics Department, her master’s degree in 2006 and her doctorate degree in 2009 again from METU. After completing her post-doctoral studies at Oberwolfach Mathematics Institute in Germany, Boğaziçi University and Waterloo University in Canada, she started to work at Hacettepe University Mathematics Department in 2011. She became associate professor in 2015. Dr. Onaran who continues his works at Hacettepe University have received TÜBA-GEBİP Award in 2016.
