TÜBA Members on the List of the Most Influential Scientists of the World.

A large number of TÜBA Members took place in the list of the most influential scientists in the world. The list has a composite indicator scientific impact index, which consists of variables such as the number of scientific articles, the number of citations, and the order of authors, by the team of scientists from the USA and the Netherlands and it includes 22 science departments and 176 sub-disciplines.

195 scientists have entered for the list from Turkey. The following professors between them are the member of TÜBA; Gökhan Hotamışlıgil, Omar M.Yaghi, Aziz Sancar, İbrahim Dinçer, Zülfiqar A. Bhutta, Niyazi Serdar Sariçiftçi, Ekmel Özbay, Mustafa Tüzen, İlhami Gülçin, Jackie Y.Ying, Arif Hepbaşlı, Aral Okay,  Özcan Erel,  Ali Mostafazadeh, Kamil Kaygusuz, Oğuz Okay, Mustafa Verşan Kök, Cemal Eringen, Gazi Yaşargil, Adil Denizli,  Mahmut Özacar, Umran S. İnan, Ömer Küçük, Salim Çıracı, Erhan Bişkin, Ziya Öniş, Oğuz Kerim Başkurt, Oğuz Kerim Başkurt, İlkay Erdogan Orhan, Saim Özkar, Fahrettin Kelestemur, Reşat Apak, Mehmet Doğan, A. Murat Tekalp, Kadriye Arzum Erdem Gürsan,  Üner Tan, Özer Bekaroǧlu, A. Nihat Berker, Metin Balcı and Metin Arık.

Besides, International TÜBA Academy Award winners Prof. Dr. Adrian Bejan, Prof. Dr. Fatih M. Uçkun, Prof. Dr. Cenk Ayata, and Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Arslan was also shown among the most influential scientists.

Following TÜBA Young Academy Member Professors were also ranked amongst the most influential scientifist;  Sabri Arık, Erdin Bozkurt, Murat Uysal, İdil Arslan - Alaton, Zeynep Aycan, Sinan Gezici,  Z. Özlem Keskin Özkaya, Özgür B. Akan, Vural Gökmen, Seda Keskin Avcı, Mehmet Atilla Taşdelen, Okan Bülent Yıldız, Vehbi Çağrı Güngör, Mehmet Zahmakıran and Durmuş Ali Demir.

 

According to the list, chemistry has been represented as the main discipline by 37 scientists from Turkey. The clinical medicine took part with 30 scientists, Enabler and Strategic Technologies, and Engineering with 28 scientists. The others are listed as follows; Physics and Astronomy 20 scientists, Communication and Information Technologies 17 scientists, Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry 10 scientists, Earth and Environmental Sciences 8 scientists, Biomedical Research 5 scientists, Mathematics and Statistics 4 scientists, Economics and Business 3 scientists, Structure and Design 2 scientists, Biology 2 scientists, Psychology and Cognitive Sciences 1 scientist, Social Sciences 1 scientist.
