General Assembly 2021 of ALLEA

The Annual  General Assembly of The Association of European Academies (ALLEA) held online due to the COVID-19 outbreak on May 6, 2020. 

TÜBA is a member of ALLEA since 1994. TÜBA was represented by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Nuri Yurdusev, a representative in the International Relations of TÜBA as a principal member. As a result of the voting of the Presidency of ALLEA, Prof. Dr. Antonia Loprieno was re-elected President of ALLEA.

The General Assembly started with a scientific symposium titled "Across Boundaries in Sciences" on May 5, one day before the program. The agenda of the General Assembly Meeting held on 6 May; ALLEA's annual report was shaped around its financial program and the programs it will carry out in 2021. In addition, the final session was held on certain topics such as “Sustainability of the Science System, Open Science, Protection of Integrity and Ethics in Scientific Research and Strategic Crisis Management in the EU”.

ALLEA; Established in 1994, it is the European Federation of Academies working in the fields of Science and Humanities. Bringing together nearly 60 science and society academies from more than 40 countries, ALLEA gathers Academies from both EU and non-EU countries under its roof and cooperates with its member Academies, thanks to its integrated membership structure. ALLEA, which promotes the exchange of knowledge and experience between academics and international scientific cooperation, contributes to the improvement of environmental conditions in which science can develop, and works to ensure autonomy in the fields of science and research in the academic sense. https://allea.org
